I've been trying to figure this one out for ages, because there so much 
going on it's hard to figure out what exactly played. Looking at video
taken during rehersals at Florida for ZooTv I think I've got most of it.
Tune down half a step.

The intro that was already in the archive is correct but live the Am and 
D are played barring the 5th and 10th frets:

The slides during the verse are from tape and I the Edge 
plays A5, D5, F5 and G5 power chords while Bono plays
open Am, D, Fmaj7 and G chords. Edge changed the sound of
this part during the POPMART tour to a more Hammond organ type
sound like that of the album version.

So there you go, it's a truely great live song but very hard to
recreate since Edge uses at least 4 different guitar sounds
throughout the song. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

I've worked this out with the help of my brothers and we're almost certain this is right. I haven't worked out the tabs yet, just the chords but they should be on the way shortly.

Notes for ONE:

I developed this version of playing the song, having watched the 
Anton Corbijn video a thousand times on slow-mo, and from the U2
Live in Sydney.  This requires a strong pinky finger for the 
hammer-ons and pull-offs.  I can't remember the symbols you used,
so here are mine:

First, form an open A minor chord.

...Play a normal open F chord, omitting the first-fretted note on the 
high E.  For the G, simply slide your F chord up two frets to a G 
position.  For the Am,F, and G chords, all the hammer-ons and pull-offs 
should be done with your pinky. For the D, use your fourth finger.
and bar the two hammered and pulled notes.

The Hammer-ons and pull-offs are pretty much the same for the chorus...
(the C, Am, F part).  I would draw it out, but the Am and F have 
essentially already been shown.

"One"-intro (Live)

This is the way i play the live version of U2's "One" intro....at least i'll try to illustrate
it....quite hard to show it on the computer...but i'll give it a shot.....

Intro:

Am

D----2---------------------------------
A----------0---------------------------

Hit the open A-chord, then play the Am in almost arpeggio-style, but strum them at the same
time. Then use your pinky-finger to hammer the 3'd fret on the B string. 

Then try this...:
Form a barre chord...something like this:Slide from the Am-chord up till the formation below.
You can ofcourse barre the whole 5'th fret..as shown in the ()'s
Hammer between the 7'th and the 5'th fret at the G-string (Listen to the song if you don't know
what i mean)
This is very difficult to illustrate.......:-)

Then "slide" back to something like this:
